Size 4 x 5 in Framed Size Lower right Edition # Original Excellent Condition Certificate of Authenticity Art Brokerage Provenance & Extra Info In the fall of 1995 artist Bradley Parrish was listening to Tchaikovskyâ Nutcracker Suite when he had a vision for a piece he entitled the Mouse King. It was during this time that Brad attributes his inspiration in creating this painting greatly in part to the fact that both he and his wife were expecting their second child. His vision for this work came instantaneously and was quite clear. While many visions for a painting require Brad to take several hours to formulate or develop on paper first, Brad realized that the vision he had in his head regarding this piece needed to be captured and painted immediately, and so he began working on this piece without thumbnail sketches drawn out before hand and began working directly on the canvas. He labored on this piece that night and continued into the next morning. Brads vision quickly developed directly on the canvas and for him, this piece was a monumental work to him because the vision for this image was so strong and so powerful in his mind. Brad states, This was one of those very special works that was pure destiny from the get go. He was moved by the music of Tchaikovsky Nutcracker Suite as he worked all night and into the early morning hours to complete this magnificent work. A few years later this painting entitled Mouse King became the inspiration for a fine art greeting card company that Brad began. Brad designed a stylized logo from this painting and it has become a very popular and a recognizable logo. For well over a decade the Mouse King has been one of Brads most collected images in the form of fine art limited edition prints and fine art holiday cards. Today the image is more popular than it has ever been. This is the first time this work has ever been available for sale.
